HIMAA Submission to the
Australian Government, Department of Health & Aged Care’s
Public Consultation on the National Healthcare Identifiers Framework
A Working Group of HIMAA members was established in January, following a call for Expressions of Interest from amongst the HIMAA membership, with the purpose to prepare a submission to the Australian Government’s Department of Health & Aged Care (DHAC). The group met on several occasions in January and February to consider and prepare a response, on behalf of HIMAA, to the DHAC’s Healthcare Identifiers Framework – Public Consultation. The lengthy submission addressed a number of the target questions, specifically those seen to be relevant to the professional interests and practice of Health Information Managers and other HIMAA members. The submission was made to the DHAC by the CEO, Jae Redden, on behalf of HIMAA.
The Working Group plans to summarise the key points from the submission, and to submit these in an article for HIMAA members to read in a future issue of HIM-Interchange.
