The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) recently put out a call for submissions in relation to the review of the National Health (Privacy) Rules 2018. A submission prepared on behalf of HIMAA was developed and is now available on the OAIC website HERE. The submission was written and reviewed by the HIMAA Privacy and Security SIG and experienced members of the HIM community.  This submission provides comprehensive information and advice in relation to suggested changes to the National Health (Privacy) Rules 2018.

The submission also highlighted our profession and organisation, which can only further enhance our presence in the health arena and demonstrate our expertise in this area.

I am extremely grateful to the contributors and reviewers of this submission who worked very hard in a short amount of time to develop a good document.  All contributors and reviewers are noted in the submission document on the OAIC website.

Convenor, HIMAA Privacy and Security SIG
