HLTSS00071 Clinical Coding Auditor Skill Set

We will be opening enrolments on 1st August for the second intake of our clinical coding auditing course.

This new skill set, which is part of the national Health Training Package has been designed for experienced clinical coders seeking to broaden their skills to include clinical coding auditing.

Pre-requisites: Access to medical records in the workplace to perform a clinical coding audit. The skill set consists of three units of competency.

We are very pleased to now offer three pathways into the skill set.

  1. Full (course duration 18 months) – Complete training and assessment for all three units of competency.

    This is designed for clinical coders who do not yet have the skills to code highly complex health care records.

    Fee: $4,900

  2. Partial (course duration 18 months) – Complete training and assessment for two units of competency, HLTCCD009
    Undertake a clinical coding audit and HLTCCD010 Analyse and report on clinical coding auditing.

    This is designed for clinical coders who have previously undertaken training in highly complex clinical coding and have a statement of attainment in HLTADM007 Undertake highly complex clinical coding or its equivalent predecessor. Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate equivalency to HLTCCD008 Undertake highly complex clinical coding through recognition of

    prior learning.

    Fee: $1,730

  3. RPL for HLTCCD008 Undertake highly complex clinical coding.
    This pathway is designed for clinical coders who have extensive experience in highly complex clinical coding and do not hold a statement of attainment in HLTCCD008 Undertake highly complex clinical coding or its equivalent predecessor. Candidates may demonstrate competency by successful completion of a two hour clinical coding examination plus completion of a written assessment.

    Fee for examination – $250.00

    Successful candidates may enrol in the Partial skill set – $1,730.00

    Candidates that are not successful may enrol in the Full skill set – $4,900.00
