HLT50321 Diploma of Clinical Coding

The new national entry level qualification for clinical coders was released this year by the Commonwealth. HIMAA will be accepting enrolments from January next year for our March intake. This new qualification consists of 8 core units of competency listed below.

 

HLTCCD001Apply an understanding of the health care system to clinical coding practice
HLTCCD002Interpret and navigate health care records
HLTCCD003Use medical terminology in health care
HLTCCD004Interpret clinical documentation using knowledge of anatomy and physiology
HLTCCD005Abstract information for clinical coding
HLTCCD006Undertake basic clinical coding
HLTCCD007Undertake moderately complex clinical coding
HLTWHS001Participate in workplace health and safety

 

The course will run for 18 – 24 months on a part time basis.

Cost:

Non-members – $6,210 (6 instalments $1,035)

Members – $5,589 (6 instalments $931.50)
