HIMAANSW – Bring on 2022 we say!

With this year over it is time to look forward to what 2022 will bring for the NSW Branch.  Kara Pollard, Co-convenor 2019-2021, has been appointed to the HIMAA Board.  With Kara’s departure, Melissa Turnell is now sharing the convening role with Kim Osborne.  Kara will be a great addition to the Board and Mel brings a wealth of experience to the NSW Branch.

Congratulations to the recipients of our NSW Branch awards at the HIMAA AGM for 2021.  Sharon Bowen was awarded the NSW Branch Practitioner of the Year while Ania Hart was awarded NSW Branch Student of the Year.  Well-deserved by both and we hope to present them with their awards at our first event in 2022.

Our plans for next year will be to deliver meaningful Professional Development for our members.  At this stage we are planning on 2-3 events throughout 2022.  These will be held at Hornsby RSL as a breakfast forum.

As always, it would be great if more members were active in our committee.  All members are welcome and the roles are not onerous.  The only stipulation we would make is that you are available for our meetings (2-3 per year) which will be held virtually and that you could assist at Professional Development events if needed.  It would be great to have a regional representative too.

We will have our first meeting in January, it will be on a virtual platform, and we welcome all to attend.  Keep an eye out for an e-Alert of when this will be.

We are excited to be welcoming a new year with fingers crossed for it to be restriction free.  Please email us at nswbranch@himaa.org.au if you have any suggestions, ideas or just want to say hi.

Lastly, we’d like to wish all of you a safe and happy end of year.

Cheers

Kim & Mel
