HIMAA QLD Branch Mid-Year Social Event

I hope everyone enjoyed celebrating National HIM Week! The HIMAAQ Branch was kept busy this week as we reached out to over 450 secondary schools and colleges, promoting careers and studies in health information management. We have already seen responses from the schools looking for more information which is promising.

On Friday 25 August, the HIMAAQ Branch hosted its annual Night of Networking as part of the Mentoring Program, sponsored by TIMG. The event is an opportunity for mentees to catch up with their mentors, but as the event is open to all, it is also a wider networking opportunity for the industry. Attendees were treated to a complimentary drink on arrival, courtesy of TIMG, as well as live music and food trucks. Registrations were initially capped at 40, but after an overwhelming response with the event reaching capacity within three days, registrations were increased to 60. There were a good mix of attendees, and an especially good turnout of QUT students. We also had the pleasure of our interim CEO, Sallyanne Wissman, joining us and meeting members. Overall, a very successful and enjoyable night!
