HIM-Interchange Update

I am pleased to announce that Issue 1 for 2023 has gone live on the HIM-Interchange website and is ready for your consumption!

In this issue we acknowledge the significant contribution of Associate Professor Joanne Callen as she steps back from the Editorial Board of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) and her role as Associate Editor of the Health Information Management Journal (HIMJ). Joanne will be highly missed as she has played a pivotal role in the development and evolution of the HIMJ and HIM-Interchange over many years of dedicated involvement and leadership.
Our thought-provoking letter to the Editor from Trixie Kemp contemplates the future of HIMAA membership and the Association itself.

Read Carol Loggie and Jenny Davis’s guest editorial piece, which was published last year in the Virtual Special Issue of the HIMJ on The Emergence of Health Information in Aged Care. It provides commentary and considerations in this budding new arena for the health information profession.

We also link to our colleagues at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, who provide an interesting ICD-11 Stakeholder Update report outlining latest developments and progress in the mammoth task of developing and planning for the implementation of ICD-11 in Australia!

Finally, recent articles previously published as ‘online first’ have now been officially published in our jam-packed first issue of 2023!

Do you have an idea for an article? The HIM-Interchange Subcommittee welcome abstracts, content ideas and questions via email himinterchange@himaa.org.au.
