Clinical Coding Community of Practice Convenor I   James Katte

Do you work in the clinical coding process?

Did you know HIMAA has a group dedicated to clinical coders and others working in the clinical coding process? If you’re interested in joining, check out the information below.

Who: Anyone working in the clinical coding process is welcome to join! You don’t need to be a HIMAA member, and it’s a good opportunity to talk with other people in the clinical coding process to see what opportunities there are for HIMAA to make a difference.

What: HIMAA hosts free online meetings in groups of up to 20 to keep the conversation conversational.

Why: To join professionals working in the clinical coding process in Australian hospitals. It’s an opportunity to hear how the clinical coding process is approached in different hospitals – you might even meet a few new people online and meet them at the next HIMAA conference! In 2022 HIMAA’s Clinical Coding Community of Practice met twice with members discussing their solutions for growing their local clinical coding workforce, tips for developing traineeships and what makes a good clinical coder.

How: Simply send a query through to the HIMAA National Office letting them know you’re interesting in joining the Clinical Coding Community of Practice and we’ll add you to the mailing list.
